Selected Examples of Works by Martha Cahoon

Ralph and Martha Cahoon often searched out old frames for their paintings.  These frames were usually less expensive than new frames which was an important consideration for the two artists.

Many times the frame would dictate the subject matter of the picture.  In the case of Snow Scene, the frame’s swirling gray and white shapes are reminiscent of snow clouds.
