Volunteer OpportunitiesThere are many ways for you to get involved at the Museum!Volunteers serve as gallery attendants, assist in the Museum gift shop, Mermaid’s Cove, conduct guided tours as Museum Docents, or volunteer time assisting at exhibition openings and special events such as the Great Brush Off! and Kitchen Tour. When you volunteer you’ll join a great group of friendly, dedicated people working in a wonderful atmosphere. You’ll enjoy the pleasant surroundings of our historic 1775 building, great art, ever-changing exhibitions, plus the perk of a 20% discount when shopping in the Museum gift shop. Every fall, volunteers who have accumulated 90 hours of service are the guests of the Museum on a free art trip. Past destinations have included wonderfully diverse visits to the Museum of Contemporary Art, Boston and the Peabody Essex Museum, Salem. Every December, the Museum hosts a volunteer luncheon at an area restaurant. Volunteers enjoy a gourmet meal complements of the Museum to thank volunteers for their services over the past year.
