DESCRIPTION:Instructor Bo Anselmo guides you through the process of converting an old quilt into wearable art!  Inspired by the history and presence of generations of women who created quilts from found and repurposed fabrics\, make a timeless article of clothing from used textiles\, giving them new life.  Bo is an artist\, educator and expressive arts therapy student who has been creating and teaching art for many years. Bring an old quilt\, an old pair of jeans that fit you\, a working sewing machine\, thread and bobbins for your sewing machine\, any decorative beads or buttons you might want to use\, and your joy and great sense of humor!  If you do not have a sewing machine\, we have a limited number available to borrow\, so please contact Leslie (lgoldman@cahoonmuseum.org). \n$55 per person/45 museum members \n\nRegister

DESCRIPTION:Friday\, August 9-Sunday\,  August 11\, 9am-4pm daily \nCreate your own fiber art square using improvisational sewing techniques in this three-day workshop. Use a square within a frame format to play with pattern and space and work with color\, scale\, and value to create a balanced composition.  Bold\, graphic prints are a useful tool for this kind of sewing project\, and you will learn an effective way to incorporate one-of-a-kind fabrics into a composition. \nA sought-after lecturer and teacher in contemporary fiber arts\, Pat Pauly shares her wealth of knowledge from decades of working in design. Recognized nationally and internationally\, her work evokes natural forms that are bold and graphic. Her award-winning art quilts have been featured in numerous publications and exhibitions. Her workshops focus on design and technique\, as well as when to apply the rules\, and when to toss them out. \nStudents will need to bring their own sewing supplies.  A detailed supply list will be provided to students upon registration.  \n$300/$250 members
