Join biological illustrator Julie Child in the gallery for a casual conversation about her life as a 20th century biological illustrator. Beginning with her intense interest in nature as a child, Julie will discuss her education at the Massachusetts General Hospital School of Medical Illustration, her years as an illustrator for scientists at the Marine Biological Laboratory in Woods Hole, and her work as an illustrator of gardening books. Julie will also explain how her connections to the Woods Hole scientific community inspired her designs for T-shirts, plates, children’s books and more.
