Illuminations: The Art of Light
March 18 – June 14
While light has always been a basic consideration of any artist’s work, only recently has it begun to receive attention as a standalone medium. Illuminations explores the diverse ways artists use luminous materials to create beauty and spark conversation. By manipulating salvaged materials to shed light on days gone by, artists use light to illuminate personal and universal stories. The exhibiting artists shed light on discarded objects and forgotten stories of our past, creating cross-media conversations through collage, papermaking, woodworking, and photographic processes.
The exhibition, presented in four distinctly curated galleries, invites visitors to experience the unique perspectives and materially varied installations of Massachusetts-based artists Alfie Glover, Dawn McKenzie, David Meyers, Caleb Cole, and Justine Crosby.
