Hatsue shares the inspiration for her artwork, Floral Breeze, which features a shower of falling cherry blossom petals created entirely out of shells and the traditional Koshu Inden (which means “wave” and “flower”) pattern used in the frame. She will also highlight the traditional Japanese technique of Hakone, a type of parquetry used as inspiration in her artwork, Mosaic World, which features designs created from shells and sea urchins.
