Soo Sunny Park creates captivating sculptural art installations that have become renown in the fields of art and design. For artworks such as Boundary Conditions, she creates a large metal armature using cut and welded chain link fence and weaves iridescent Plexiglas into this metal grid to capture the ephemeral qualities of light; the result is a powerful immersive art experience. Park explains her artistic process, from idea to construction and installation, in an illustrated presentation using impressive examples of her installation work.
Park shares the journey of her career in art from her undergraduate studies at Columbus College of Art and Design, where she planned to pursue product design, to examples of her sculptures and art installations that have been featured at the North Carolina Museum of Art, the Currier Museum, DeCordova Sculpture Park and Museum and other national and international venues. Park has an MFA from Cranbrook Academy of Art and teaches studio art at Dartmouth College in New Hampshire.
