Founded in 1977 by 13 Cape artists, this legendary cooperative gallery revitalized the Provincetown art colony, spawned new galleries, and attracted dealers and collectors in its heyday. Long Point’s influence grew with the importance of Provincetown, recognized as “home of the nation’s oldest art colony” by the National Trust for Historic Preservation. Grace Hopkins presents each artist’s history and artwork as well as stories from her experience growing up with them on Cape Cod.

Grace is the daughter of Budd Hopkins, a renowned abstract expressionist painter and one of the founders of Long Point, and April Kingsley, art historian and author. A year-round resident of Wellfleet, Grace presently lives in a Cape modern house and is a fine art photographer, international guidance counselor for the arts, and director of Berta Walker Gallery in Provincetown. This talk is held in conjunction with the exhibition Varujan Boghosian: Material Poetry; Boghosian was one of the founding members of Long Point Gallery.

Included with general admission.
