Barbara Burgo, Co-founder and Curator of the Cape Cod Cape Verdean Museum and Cultural Center, will share the story behind Pano di Terra, a traditional, handwoven cloth from Cape Verde. Pano di Terra have been documented since the 15th century and feature beautiful, geometric motifs, passed down through generations. In this talk, Barbara will share actual examples of this cloth, as well as images, and discuss how these textiles hold the stories and values of the people who created them.
