Writing with Pictures

The medium of illustration involves writing with pictures; artists use visualizations to tell a story or explain something. Writing With Pictures raises appreciation of illustration and awareness of how it differs from other visual art forms, such as design and painting. This exhibition, co-curated by Fred Lynch, Professor of Illustration at Rhode Island School of Design (RISD) and Annie Dean, highlights the artwork of eight RISD graduates from different cultural backgrounds with unique approaches to illustration. Selected artists represent a wide perspective on contemporary illustration in both traditional and digital media. The exhibition features artwork by JooHee Yoon, Oge Mora, Kelly Murphy, Antoine Revoy, Eric Telfort, Aaron Meshon, Claudia del Castillo, and Fred Lynch. The exhibition showcases original illustrations and books.
